Sri Lanka needs 221 runs and South Africa needs 7 wickets on the fourth day of Durban test. South Africa captain Faf du Plessis missed his century just for ten runs and Lasith Embuldeniya got 5 wickets.
South Africa Inning on the third day
South Africa leading 170 runs, Protea captain Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Cock started on the third day of Durban test. Both brought 97 runs partnership before Lasith Embuldeniya picked Quinton de Cock, scoring 55 runs from 6 fours.

Then Captain Faf du Plessis scored 90 runs from 11 fours. But Vishwa Fernando trapped the captain to lbw from just 10 runs from the 9th test century. Though Vernon Philander scored 18 runs the rests failed to score double digits. South Africa ends in 259 runs and Sri Lanka got a target of 304 runs

Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Embuldeniya picked 5 wickets and lead the bowling attack on the pace-friendly Durban. Vishwa Fernando got 4 wickets and companied Embuldeniya well. The rest was for Kasun Rajitha.
Sri Lanka second inning on the third day

Sri Lanka started comparatively well on this target. Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne picked 42 runs on the opening. But Kagiso Rabada brought the breakthrough by picking Lahiru Thirimanne’s wicket. As this opener scored 21 runs from 3 fours.

Then another opener also returned to the pavilion, scoring 20 runs from a couple of fours on Vernon Philander’s delivery. As Kusal Mendis scored a duck then Sri Lanka was under pressure. But Oshana Fernando and Kusal Perera tackled the disaster start on the fourth day.
