Sri Lanka come back to the Willington test

When India lost Perth Test at the beginning of the fifth day. Then another Asian giant Sri Lanka is about to save their test in Willington. But Sri Lanka was in serious batting disaster in their first inning.

Depending on the master class batting from Latham Blackcaps was smelling of victory. Then Sri Lanka turned around in their second innings. Though they lost first three wickets by scoring 13.

Then two fighters Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews built a fantastic partnership of 246 runs. When both got their centuries. They proved them perfectly.

When experts were counting about another loss with inning difference then centuries rescued the test. Their partnership was 246 runs from 577 balls!

Kiwi bowlers tried their best.  They varied their deliveries from body lines to slow, bouncer. But this two batsmen faced them carefully. As a result, bowlers couldn’t pick any wicket. That gave the day to the batsmen.

When the match was about to dismiss on the fourth day. Sri Lanka is trailed by only 37 runs. This test is about to draw unless there is something dramatic. Mendis (116*) and Mathews (117*) will bat in the fifth day.

Maybe Mathews answered the critics celebrating with the push-up. He was in bench caused fitness. He messaged to Hathurusinghe that he has many more for the team. It’s mentionable that he scored 83 runs in first innings.
