As South Africa Captain Faf du Plessis lost the toss and had to bat first. But adding no run Dean Elgar went to the pavilion. Then Hashim Amla also returned home for 3 runs, at 9 runs on the scoreboard. Scoring 11 runs another opener Aiden Makram got bold on Vishwa Fernando.

Losing 3 wickets by 17 runs South Africa was under pressure. Captain Faf du Plessis made 72 runs with Temba Bavuma before Kasun Rajitha picked Faf du Plessis, scoring 35 runs with 5 fours. Then a 21 runs partnership came from Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Cock.

Though Temba Bavuma trapped in run-out Quinton de Cock picked 80 runs with 8 fours and a six. But none of the batsmen couldn’t raise the score and South Africa lost their last wicket by 235 runs.

Vishwa Fernando got 4 wickets and accelerate the early pick-up. Kasun Raajitha got 3 and companied Vishwa well. Further, Suranga Lakmal and Lasith Embuldenya picked a wicket each.

Then another opener Dimuth Karunaratne scored 28 runs from 3 fours and Oshada Fernando scored 17 runs from a couple of fours. Both will continue on the second day.
