Former Windies team manager, Ricky Skerritt appointed Cricket Windies President. In the annual general meeting of Ricky Skerritt won enough vote to beat Dave Cameron by 8-4. On the other hand, Kishore Shallow beat Emmanuel Nathan on the same margin for the Vice President post.
Ricky Skerritt expressed his feeling
Ricky Skerritt expressed his feeling, “I humbled and deeply honored to be elected as President. We pledge to work for improvement on and off the field for West Indies Cricket.”
Repeating the elected president the new vice president asserted also. “I am grateful and humbled by the support of the members of the territorial board. This is a victory for West Indies Cricket.”
Dave Cameron, and Emmanuel Nathan
The lost President and Vice president, Dave Cameron, and Emmanuel Nathan satisfied with the result and asserted their winnings in a joint statement as well. “We were happy to be able to serve and happy of our achievements. We are happy that we left 123 players under contract. The world championships and bringing back the Wisden Trophy are also other achievements that we are proud of. More than anything else we have a fit youthful team that prepared to face the world”
In addition, “Under this team, we made significant strides and you trusted us to safeguard the region’s most valuable asset. The tenure was rewarding and full of challenges and we feel proud we have managed to take the cricket to this level.”
Cameron and Nathan were serving the board for 17 and 15 years respectively. Accordingly, Cameron appointed as president from 2013 till the election before that he serving vice president also. “We anticipate the sport will move towards its true potential and we ask the new team to build upon the progress and to continue to fight for equity in world cricket.”
Therefore, Former Windies team manager, Ricky Skerritt appointed Cricket Windies President and Kishore Shallow is the new Vice president. Hope the board will reach Windies to a new era.
