Rangpur Riders won by 8 runs against Khulna Titans on the second match of the day at Mirpur. Rangpur Opener Rilee Rossouw won the Man of the match title.
Winning the toss, Khulna Titan captain Mahmudullah offered Rangpur batting first. Two Rangpur opener started well but Mehedi Maruf trapped run out. Then Alex Hales left the wicket at 42 on the scoreboard. Mohammad Mithun tried but couldn’t survive.
When Rangpur picked 65 runs from first 10 overs. Then Ravi Bopara came to the wicket. 104 runs. Rilee Rossouw and Ravi Bopara made a continuous partnership of 104 runs from 10 overs. Which mainly destroyed Khulna’s bowling line-up.
Rilee Rossouw scored 76 runs from 52 balls with 8 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries. On another end, Ravi Bopara got 40 runs from 29 runs with 3 fours and 1 six. Their unbreakable partnership brought Rangpur to a challenging score of 169 runs.
Ali Khan, Zahir Khan and Carlos Brathwaite picked one wicket each.
To the target of 170 two Khulna opener, Paul Stirling and Junaid Siddique picked 90 runs from 11.1 overs. Junaid Siddique backed to the pavilion with 33 runs from 30 balls from Howells over. But another opener Stirling played an effective inning of 61 runs from 46 balls with 8 fours and a six.
But Khulna Captain Mahmudullah fought till the last, scored 24 from 17 balls with 4 boundaries. They survived till the 161 runs. But Rangpur Riders won by 8 runs.
Shafiul Islam had 2 wickets. Captain Mashrafe, Farhad Reza and Benny Howell picked one wicket each.
Finally, Rangpur Riders won by 8 runs but we hope Captain Mahmudullad will recover Khulna to the game.
