Now they are afraid of losing this test too. New Zealand ends their first inning to 578 by all wickets. Tom Latham has got a double century (264). They lead for 296 runs.  But now Sri Lanka is in front of the batting disaster. Sri Lanka stamps day three in 20 runs for 3. Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews will try to recover their second innings tomorrow.

With this match, Kiwi batsmen have four double century in Besine Reserve of Willington against Sri Lanka. Latham is the latest edition of this list after Martin Crow, Lu Vincent and Williamson. This opener started from 121. He scored his first double century before the tea break. Kumara got Ross Taylor’s wicket on the fourth delivery of the day. Then Henry Nicholls (50) and Colin de grandhomme (49) also contribute to scoring this.

Vincent scores a double century against Sri Lanka as a Kiwi batsman in test. This is the first double after Ross Taylor scored 290 against Australia in 2015. Tom Latham’s batting seems that he is teaching how to elevate an inning. Though three Lankan batsmen have fifty in the first innings but couldn’t continue more. They can be inspired by Latham.
