Experienced Caribbean batsman Darren Bravo is back after two years against England. Bravo played his last test on November 2016.
As Windies got a shameful loss to Bangladesh last month then Cricket Windies decided to something exceptional. Then Darren Bravo is into the squad for the first test.
This left-handed batsman has experience of 49 tests with 40 average and 8 centuries. Although he couldn’t score a remarkable performance against Bangladesh Cricket Windies fix him for his experience in test.
Another comeback is Alzarri Joseph. This fast bowling all-rounder maybe earns his recall in the team. on the basis of his recent performance in list A and first class.
Windies have a team with two debutants, John Campbell and Shamarh Brooks. So Windies got a well-balanced team under the captaincy of Jason Holder.
West Indies’ chairman of selectors Courtney Brown satisfied with his team,
“After a difficult Test Series in Bangladesh late last year the opportunity presents itself for our team to pick itself up. Although a tough series against England is anticipated, home turf has always been a place where our team has made strides.”
He added, “With the return of Darren Bravo, who will add value to a batting department, we expect to see marked improvement,” added Browne. “Young, exciting, fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, who was sidelined by injury, returns to the squad and Shamarh Brooks has been elevated for his solid first-class performances over the last three years.”
