IPL auction came to an end yesterday. Eight teams decorated their team in the best way. There was some surprising thing. Some teenagers become a millionaire. An architect rebirth his dream to be a cricketer for IPL. On the other hand, some IPL stars didn’t have any team.
As a match starts by them. Yes, I’m talking about fast bowlers. Morne Markel and Dail Stain remain unsold. As Morkel bayed to cricket it was quite natural. But Stain was a part and parcel to the IPL for last some years. Last year another regular face Lasith Malinga was as a mentor. But Mumbai bought him for 2 crores this year. It was expected that Stain had to in an honorable position in the auction. As he performed in Australia tour this year. But Stain was unsold because of the tight schedule of South Africa before World-Cup.
The schedule was not a problem for Brandon Macklem. Once he was a regular hero of franchise league. But this Kiwi opener was not in the form like him. So franchises were uninterested to spend 2 crores for him. But English opener Alex Hols? Franchises were also reluctant to him.
Former fastest ODI century Kore Anderson remain unsold for 2 crores too. It seems that franchises weren’t interested in Kiwi batsmen. Another Kiwi hard-heater Luc Ronchi was unsold too. None spent 75 lacs for this wicket-keeper batsman, Double package. Mushkiqur remains unsold at a base price 50 lacs.
Nowadays, leg-spinners were doing well in the IPL. Franchises always extra interested for Aussies. Adam Jumpa contributes winning against India a month ago. So it was not amazing that Kusal Perera and Angelo Mathews remain unsold.
Pace bowling All-rounder
Though pace bowling all-rounders always a “Hotcake” in IPL. But English Criss Oaks or Windies Criss Jordan remain unsold.
Every season, there happens something unpleasant in IPL auction. We hope it will succeed this year too.
